David Yuan   Director & Head  Redpoint China

David Yuan is a director and the head of Redpoint China. David is based in Shanghai and focuses on investment opportunities and portfolio development. David is a board member of Cgen Media and China eNet. He has also led Redpoint’s investment in Qihoo, 51.com, Innofidei and Kadang.  David has over fifteen years of operation and investment experience with a demonstrated track record of starting and building technology companies both in Silicon Valley and Asia Pacific. He has developed strong domain expertise in semiconductor, communication technologies, new media and services.

Prior to joining Redpoint, David co-founded and served as CEO of iTelco Communications, a technology and solution provider for the next generation of communication networks. Previously, David was a co-founder of Opentel Communications, a facility-based international telecom carrier. Prior to Opentel, David co-founded Genesol Enterprise, one of the first telecom system integration companies in China. David began his career with Intel as a design engineer and a product manager in the microprocessor group.

David holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
